Where No Man Has Gone Before
The USS Enterprise (the present-day aircraft carrier and not the 23rd century starship) has been deployed on its final mission. The oldest and largest carrier in the U.S. fleet, Enterprise has been in service for 50 years. She has been involved in numerous crucial moments in U.S. naval history, including the Cuban Missile Crisis and the movie Top Gun. Captain Jeffrey Trent will command the ship's final voyage. It is unknown what will happen to the ship when it is decommissioned, but hopefully tourists will be able to visit the spot where Maverick and Iceman, once rivals, embraced after a hard-fought mission. With any luck it won't suffer the fate of the future starship that bears its name: being stolen to take on a journey to the Genesis planet and self destructing to keep from falling into the hands of the Klingons.
